MUSIC Nations For Peace at DLF Cyber Hub
The second day of this two-day festival, put together by city-based classic rock band Parikrama and Seagrams 100 Pipers, will feature performances by acts from six countries, including Bangladesh’s LRB, Bhutan’s Druk Revival, Nepal’s Abhaya and the Steam Injuns, Noori from Pakistan, Paranoid Earthling from Sri Lanka and Hari and Sukhmani and Parikrama from India. DOCUMENTARY FILM Remembering The Great East Japan Earthquake at the Japan Foundation
Yohei Hatakeyama’s 2015 Japanese documentary Tracing the Future, Naoya Hatakeyama, will be screened with subtitles in English. The film is about Naoya Hatakeyama, an internationally acclaimed Japanese photographer who lost his mother in the tsunami and earthquake in Japan in 2011. Since the tsunami, Hatakeyama has visited and photographed the impacted area every month. The screening will be preceded by talks by commandant Alok Avasthy, who led the Indian National Disaster Response Force’s first overseas operation in Japan, and a discussion titled ‘Onagawa Story: Warmth of Indian Curry’, about the relief work carried out by a small group of Indians living in Onagawa. There is no entry fee.

THEATRE Bhartendu Natya Utsav at Shri Ram Centre
The Sahitya Kala Parishad has put together this festival of plays that were performed at the venue last year. This weekend, Dinesh Khanna will direct Vijay Tendulkar’s Ek Ziddi Ladki, about a strong-willed daughter-in-law who attempts to reform the household into which she marries, on Friday, and M. K. Raina will helm theatre group Three Arts Club’s performance of Hiroshima, about the terrible devastation caused by the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II, on Saturday. FILM Night Train to the Star at the Japan Foundation
Omori Kazuki’s 1996 Japanese film is a biography of beloved writer Kenji Miyazawa whose work remained unknown during his lifetime but whose novel Night on the Galactic Railroad became one of the most important literary works of his country. The film, which will be screened with English subtitles, dwells on the life of Miyazawa, his rift with his wealthy family and his effort to educate Japanese farmers. There is no entry fee.

DOCUMENTARY FILM Women’s Reels at Habitat World
Two women-centric documentary films will be screened. Malayalam director Asha Achy Joseph’s 2015 film Ore Udal (One Body) examines the culture of rape in the country. PHOTOGRAPHY Graciela Iturbide at Instituto Cervantes
The institute is displaying two sets of works by the renowned Mexican photographer: Naturatta and El Baño de Frida Kahlo (Frida’s Bathroom). The first is a series of images taken at the Botanical Garden of Oaxaca in 1998 and 1999; the second is on the bathroom of the artist Frida Kahlo.
