SCO 115/5 after 20 overs: Pakistan win by 72 runs. A professional performance. The batters did what they had do and so did the bowlers. No drama.
SCO 108/5 after 18 overs: A very fine fifty for Berrington. 51 off 34 balls. Just what Scotland needed but he didn’t find much support from the rest of the line-up.
SCO 97/5 after 17 overs: Just three overs left in the game. Pakistan are cruising and this is the best way to warm up for the semis.
SCO 87/5 after 15.4 overs: WICKET! Full, straight and too good for Leask. Shaheen strikes. Leask b Shaheen Afridi 14(14)
SCO 73/4 after 14 overs: Leask and Berrington have got a partnership going. Not much but it is something.
SCO 59/4 after 12 overs: Some good runs being scored and the experience will help Scotland in the times to come.
SCO 41/4 after 10.1 overs: WICKET! The break does the trick. Pakistan get another wicket. Budge is gone for a duck. Dylan Budge b Shadab Khan 0(2)
SCO 41/3 after 10 overs: Scotland seem determined to play out their 20 overs without getting all out. Very little intent from them in tough conditions against a class attack.
SCO 36/2 after 8 overs: WICKET! Cross is run out at the non-striker’s end. Imad got his hand on the straight drive. Matthew Cross run out (Imad Wasim) 5(8)
SCO 30/1 after 7 overs: Pakistan have played this so well. They are keeping things simple. Scotland are just struggling to score.
SCO 23/1 after 5.3 overs: WICKET! Coetzer went for the big shot against Hasan and hit nothing but air. Coetzer b Hasan Ali 9(16)
SCO 23/0 after 5 overs: The runs are not proving to be easy to come by.
SCO 19/0 after 3 overs: Scotland’s start has been as steady as Pakistan’s. But will they be able to accelerate in quite the same way?
SCO 5/0 after 1 over: A four down the ground for Munsey to start things off. He is key to the chase for the Scots.
Scotland are out in them middle and expect Munsey to take a crack at this.
Pak 189/4 after 20 overs: What an over… what a knock! 2 1 6 4 6 Wd 6. Malik gets to his fifty with a six. It took him just 18 balls to get to his fifty. Stunning innings. Six sixes and a solitary four in the knock. A superb end to the innings for Pakistan.
Pak 161/4 after 19 overs: Malik has come to the party with a 14-ball 31 and he isn’t done yet. It is raining sixes at Sharjah.
Pak 142/4 after 17.3 overs: WICKET! Greaves gets another. Babar falls after a sublime 66. Babar Azam c Munsey b Chris Greaves 66(47)
Pak 139/3 after 17 overs: The runs are coming thick and fast now. Babar has taken things up a gear and Malik is showing all his experience too. Babar got to his 4th fifty of the tournament off 40 balls.
Pak 112/3 after 15 overs: WICKET! The on field decision was out but Hafeez decided to take the review anyway. Three reds and the veteran was walking back. The innings of 31 from just 19 balls might just prove to be a crucial one. Hafeez lbw b Safyaan Sharif 31(19)
Pak 87/2 after 13 overs: Very steady from Pakistan and conditions aren’t easy for batters. Anything around 140-150 will be very difficult for Scotland against the Pak attack.
Pak 68/2 after 11 overs: Scotland continue to keep it steady but Pakistan are starting to play a few more shots now. Babar seems to be coming to terms with the wicket.
Pak 59/2 after 9.4 overs: WICKET! Greaves into the attack and Fakhar Zaman finds the fielder in the deep. The left-hander never got going. Fakhar Zaman c Leask b Chris Greaves 8(13)
Pak 57/1 after 9 overs: Babar started the Watt over with a six and Pakistan then made it a 12-run over. Easy does it.
Pak 45/1 after 8 overs: Scotland are keeping things tight but Pakistan will want to start going for their shots soon.
Pak 35/1 after 6.1 overs: WICKET! Hamza strikes to send back Rizwan. Scotland have started the game very well. The batter tried to cut it, got an under edge which was very well taken by Cross. Rizwan c Matthew Cross b Hamza Tahir 15(19)
Pak 35/0 after 6 overs: A good Powerplay for Scotland. They haven’t allowed Pakistan to get away.
Pak 31/0 after 5 overs: The big over that Pakistan needed. 14 runs from the Wheal over. Rizwan with a monster hit for six – 96m and Babar with a four providing the big shots.
Pak 18/0 after 4 overs: Watt into the attack and he too does very well. Babar smashed one back and the bowler got a hand to it but couldn’t hold on.
Pak 14/0 after 3 overs: Sharif into the attack and Pakistan get the first boundary of the innings in the over. This is a good start by Scotland though.
Pak 7/0 after 2 overs: Wheal with a good over as well. Pakistan taking their time to get set and understand the wicket.
Pak 1/0 after 1 over: Hamza started off with a brilliant over. The left-arm orthodox spinner went wide and used the angle very well. Just one run off the over.
National anthems done and Pakistan’s openers are out in the middle.

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the game between Pakistan and Scotland at Sharjah. Scotland skipper Kyle Coetzer has urged his players to give it their best shot but it won’t be easy. The Scots have lost all four Super 12 Group 2 games since defeating Bangladesh in the qualifiers last month. In contrast, Pakistan are the form team with four wins in as many games – a fact not lost on Coetzer.
“What better game and what better team to play against than Pakistan,” said the Scottish skipper. “They’re at the top of their game at the moment. That’s just an ultimate test and to challenge yourself against them.”
Pakistan have won all three Twenty20 internationals against Scotland, one in the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007 and two in Edinburgh 11 years later.
Coetzer said his players will relish the challenge of facing rival skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan – who have put two century opening stands in four matches.
