Later Harvinder Singh improved on his bronze from Tokyo to win the gold medal in the men’s individual recurve archery event, becoming the first Indian archer to win a Paralympic gold.

In the last event of the day featuring Indians, Dharambir took gold and Pranav Soorma clinched silver in the men’s club throw F51 final.

Athletics, women's shotput F46 final: Amisha Rawat did manage to put up her best effort, with a personal best throw of 9.25m, but unfortunately that was not good enough compared to her opponents. She finishes 14th out of 15 athletes in her event.

Powerlifting, men's upto 49kg: Kumar fails to lift 161kg in his third attempt. His best lift is still his first at 150kg.

Jordan’s Omar Qarada is in gold position with a best lift of 177kg, Turkey’s Abdullah Kayipnar is in the second spot at 176kg while Vietname’s Cong Van Le is in the third spot with a best lift of 171kg.

Powerlifting, men's upto 49kg: India's Parmjeet Kumar won his ticket to Paris after winning a silver medal in this year’s Para Powerlifting World Cup. After his first lift, he is on the top spot with a successful lift of 150kg.

Table tennis, women's singles WS4, quarter-final: It wasn't to be for Bhavina Patel, as the Tokyo silver medallist loses to China's Zhou Ying 12-14, 9-11, 11-8, 6-11 in the women's singles WS4 quarter-final.

Shooting, mixed 50m pistol SH1 Qualification: Not the result one was hoping for India in shooting. Both Nihal Singh and Rudransh Khandelwal fail to qualify after finishing 19th and 22nd respectively. Singh finished with a total score of 522-6x while Khandelwal finished with 517-6x.

Athletics, men's shotput F36 final: Sachin Khilari opens India's account for today with a silver medal finish. His second attempt of 16.32m saw him set the new Asian record, as well as clinch a spot on the Paris Podium.

Table tennis, women's singles WS4, quarter-final: Silver medallist from last time Bhavinaben Patel, the world No 4 takes on China's Ying Zhou, the world No 5.

Shooting, mixed 50m pistol SH1 Qualification: In action at the Chateauroux are Nihal Singh and Rudransh Khandelwal. The duo will be hoping to finish in the top eight to secure a spot in the final.

Athletics, men's shot put F36 final: Mohd Yasser, Rohit Kumar and Sachin Khilari will compete in this event, which could provide India its first medals for today. The event starts at 1:35 pm.

Hello and welcome to Scroll’s coverage of Day 7 of the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.

On Tuesday, India reached the 20-medal mark for the first time in an edition of the Paralympics, surpassing the tally from Tokyo.

On Day 7 in Paris, the numbers are expected to increase.

As the powerlifting events begin, there are podium places up for grabs in athletics, with the men’s shot put F46 and men’s club throw F51 seeing three Indians each competing.

Bronze medallist from Tokyo in the men’s individual open recurve archery event Harvinder Singh will also be competing today.
