Britain’s Andy Murray beat Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 to progress to the last eight of the US Open on Tuesday. Murray, playing the best tennis of his life according to many, was clinical as he taught the 22nd seed a thing or two about the game. The Scotsman dropped just five games in a two-hour encounter that saw him serve at 141 miles per hour.
Dimitrov was at a loss and did not realise what hit him until he was packing his bags and leaving Arthur Ashe Stadium. Murray will now face Kei Nishikori for place in the semi-final and with the form that he is in, the Japanese better bring his A-game or consider packing his bags as well.

Eighteen-year-old Ana Konjuh stunned fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4, 6-4 to book her spot in the quarter-finals. Konjuh was fearless in her approach and her serve did not let her down even for a second. She will now face Karolina Pliskova for a spot in the semis.

Venus loses, won't face Serena
Venus Williams bowed out of the US Open after she was beaten by Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(3). The 36-year-old failed to capitalise on a match point and eventually lost the tie-breaker to miss her place in the last eight. Her loss also brought an end to tennis fans' hopes of seeing an all-Williams clash in the draw.
