The big news: Anderson returns for India tour
All-rounder Corey Anderson was named in New Zealand's One-Day International squad for the five-match series against India staring on October 16 in Dharamsala. New Zealand Cricket said that Anderson will play as a specialist batsman in the series. The 25-year-old has not played at all after being injured during the World T20 in India in March this year. He suffered a back injury, which saw him miss New Zealand's series against Zimbabwe and South Africa.
New Zealand also brought in batsman Anton Devcich and wicketkeeper BJ Watling for the ODI series. All-rounder James Neesham also made the cut. Tim Southee, who was ruled out of the Test series after injuring his ankle, was named in the 15-member ODI squad.

India are set to take on New Zealand in Kanpur for the first Test on September 22.
- The Albert TUTI Patriots beat the Chepauk Super Gillies by 122 runs to win the inaugral Tamil Nadu Premier League on Sunday. The Patriots smashed 215/2 with Abhinav Mukund and Dinish Karthik hitting half-centuries. In reply, the Gillies were bowled out for 93, losing four wickets in the first over of their chase to spinner M Ganesh Moorthi.
