Saturday in India's premier cricket domestic tournament saw defending champions Mumbai trailing Madhya Pradesh by 155 runs in the first innings with Akhil Herwadkar unbeaten on 136. Captain Aditya Tare hit 80 and along with Herwadkar, took Mumbai to 290/5 at Raipur.

Abhinav Mukund smashed 154 against Uttar Pradesh to take Tamil Nadu to 398/6 at the end of day’s play at Dharamsala. Dinesh Karthik chipped in with a useful 73 but Tamil Nadu still trail UP by 126 runs.

Delhi dismantled by Gowthan

Delhi were undone by some fine bowling by Karnataka’s Krishnappa Gowtham, who picked up 5/35 to take his side to victory by an innings and 160 runs in Kolkata. The Karun Nair-led side had taken a lead of 324 on the second day, posting a mammoth 414 on the board in reply to Delhi's paltry 90 in the first innings.

The Delhi batsmen imploded once again in spectacular fashion on the third day, handing their rivals all seven points from an outright win. Karnataka now have 10 points from two matches while Delhi remain on eight from two games. Karnakata next play Assam in Mumbai with Delhi facing Odisha in Chandigarh.

Patel, Jadeja power Saurashtra

Kushang Patel and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja took five-wicket hauls to enforce the follow-on as Maharashtra were bowled out for 182 in their first innings at Vizianagaram. Saurashtra declared at 657/8 in the first innings. Saurashtra now have a chance to fight for a bonus-point win as Maharashtra headed to stumps on 114/2.

Jharkhand need seven wickets to win

Rajasthan were placed at 67/3, chasing 280 against Jharkhand in Vadodara. Jharkhand, who resumed on 73/2 after taking a two-run lead, extended their advantage with Ishank Jaggi's crucial 100. Mahipal Lomror, the 16-year old left-arm spinner who represented India at the Under-19 World Cup, picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in his third first-class match for Rajasthan to bowl Jharkhand for 277. Pankaj Singh, the Rajasthan captain, took three wickets to finish with match haul of 8/123.
