The Indian women’s team beat Pakistan by five wickets in their Twenty20 Asia Cup clash on Tuesday. Winning the toss and opting to field first, India’s bowlers made merry keeping Pakistan under 100 in the allocated 20 overs. Ekta Bisht (3/20), Anuja Patil (2/12) and Harmanpreet Kaur (2/16) were at their sublime best in the tournament being played in Bangkok.
Mithali Raj top scored for India with a knock of 36 as India chased down the target with four balls to spare. Skipper Kaur chipped in with an unbeaten knock of 26 to take her side home in the end.
