Remember Nathan Lyon’s stunning caught-and-bowled to dismiss Moeen Ali in the Adelaide Test? Well, New Zealand’s Trent Boult might just have bettered it is less than a week.

The stylish left-arm pacer pulled off a blinder in the second Test against the West Indies in Hamilton on Sunday. The unlucky batsman was Shimron Hetmeyer, who could do nothing but watch in awe.

It was a good length delivery that bounced a little extra, and lobbed back towards the leg side. Remember, Boult’s natural follow through takes him away from the stumps, but he stops in his tracks, transfers momentum to his left and dives full length to complete a sensational catch.

New Zealand enjoyed a “fun” day out as Southee and Boult ensured they seized command on a rain-affected second day.

Southee and Boult starred with bat and ball as the West Indies were left struggling 158 runs behind on the first innings with only two wickets remaining.

The tail-end batsmen boosted New Zealand to 373 in their first innings with a 61-run last wicket stand.

The new ball pair then bagged four wickets between them on a benign pitch as the West Indies plummeted to 215 for eight at stumps. Southee has two for 34 and Boult two for 67.
