India skipper Virat Kohli smashed an exceptional 153 off 217 balls as to help his side post 307 in reply to South Africa’s first innings total of 335 on Day 3 of the second Test at Centurion.
Kohli, who began his knock on Day 2, appeared to be batting at a different level even as his teammates kept committing errors and perishing. The 29-year-old, though, produced a determined performance that helped him notch up his 21st Test century.
Twitter hailed Kohli’s performance, here’s a look at some of the notable tweets on his knock:
The plaudits
Important innings played by @imVkohli. If we bowl well, we have a chance to do something special. Come on guys!! #SAvIND

In Virat Kohli 's first 11 test hundred's, 2 scores of 150 + ,next 10 hundred's, all converted to 150 + .The thing about big players, when they score, they make it count.

Kohli has looked head and shoulders above the rest in this series....and that includes batsmen from both sides. Hardly a shot in the air...lots of singles. High strike-rate. Modern Master. #RunMachine #SAvIND

Quite simply, one of the best innings I have seen from Kohli.
