Mumbai under-19 chief selector and former cricketer Rajesh Pawar has been named among seven players reported for a suspect action during the just-concluded Mumbai T20 League.

Pawar, who played for North Mumbai Panthers, was reported once and subsequently did not play in the rest of the games. The 38-year-old made his debut for Mumbai in 1996 as a 16-year-old. The left-arm spinner was also part of India’s under-19 World Cup side in 1998, which comprised Mohammad Kaif and Harbhajan Singh.

Mumbai Ranji player Jay Bista, who played for Sobo Supersonics, was also reported once by the umpires, an official from the Mumbai Cricket Association informed.

Pratik Dabholkar and Aniket Redkar, who played for Mumbai Northeast Triumph Knights and Namo Bandra Blasters respectively, were reported twice and will have to rework their bowling actions at the state body’s academy before they can play again, the official added.

Akhtar Shaikh from North Mumbai Panthers and Siddharth Chitnis of Arcs Andheri were the other players pulled up.

Mumbai North East Triumph Knights beat Shivaji Park Lions in the final on Wednesday to clinch the title.
