The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is sending the men’s team to Ireland and England without a recce, said a Mumbai Mirror report on Friday.

The logistics manager’s pre-tour trip was cancelled for the first time since the past three tours in 2007, 2011 and 2014.

The India squad will be travelling to England without the compulsory recce, a practice every touring national team follows. BCCI officials are unaware why the inspection was not conducted. Virat Kohli and Co, who will be in the United Kingdom for nearly three months will have to reply on the host boards’ arrangements.

Logistics manager Mayank Parikh was scheduled to travel to Ireland and England after the Indian Premier League but did not go ahead with his plans.

Committee of Administrators chief Vinod Rai said he wasn’t aware why a representative was not sent for the recce.

India take on Ireland in two T20Is followed by three T20I series against England. They will then play three ODIs before the commencement of the high-profile five-match Test series.
