Rajasthan: 12 people burned to death after bus collides with truck on highway
Thirty-two people were injured in the accident.

At least 12 people were burned to death and 32 were injured on Wednesday after their bus collided with a truck on Rajasthan’s Balotra-Jodhpur highway, said Barmer District Collector Lok Bandhu, according to PTI.
“Some of the injured were referred to Jodhpur for treatment and some were discharged,” Bandhu added.
Fire tenders were sent to the accident site near Bhandiyawas village on the highway to douse the fire on the two vehicles, PTI reported.
The accident caused a massive traffic jam on the highway, India Today reported.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot asked the district collector to ensure that the injured people receive the best treatment.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences to the families of those who died.
He announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the families. Modi added that people injured in the accident would be given Rs 50,000 each.
An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of those who lost their lives due to the accident at the Barmer-Jodhpur Highway in Rajasthan. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000 each: PM @narendramodi
