The Mumbai Police on Thursday booked singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya on charges of molestation and provoking breach of peace after he was accused by a woman of sexually harassing and abusing her during a Dussehra function. The 34-year-old woman had filed a police complaint in which she accused the singer of touching her inappropriately, abusing and threatening her during a concert on Wednesday night. Abhijeet was one of the organisers of the event.

Bhattacharya denied the charges and said he only had an argument with the woman and asked her to move or be seated as she was blocking everyone's view, reported NDTV. The Mumbai Police confirmed that the two had an argument, but said they were investigating the case. A police official said, "While trying to move away the victim from where she stood up, Abhijeet allegedly touched and caught her inappropriately."
