Congress sacks content editor of journal that criticised Jawaharlal Nehru
Multiple articles were published criticising the former prime minister’s policies, while it also called Sonia Gandhi’s father Stefano Maino a fascist soldier.
The Congress party on Monday sacked the content editor of its Mumbai journal Darshan, Sudhir Joshi, reported PTI. The December issue of the party journal had criticised former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Multiple articles were published criticising Nehru’s policies and calling Gandhi’s father Stefano Maino a fascist soldier.
Earlier, Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam had apologised for the articles, while the party said it will also launch an inquiry into the matter. Senior party leaders, such as Salman Khurshid and Shashi Tharoor, also dismissed the articles, saying they were mistakes, and backed Nehru and Gandhi.
