Man arrested in Kerala for insulting soldier killed in Pathankot attack
The police said the 24-year-old used a fake name to post a comment that was 'anti-national' in nature.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in Kerala on Tuesday for writing an "anti-national" Facebook post. The police said that Anwar Sadiq insulted National Security Guard commando Lieutenant Colonel EK Niranjan, who was killed in a grenade blast during combing operations at the Pathankot airbase, IANS reported. Sadiq was arrested on sedition charges, but claimed he did not know it was a crime, said the police. His post had triggered a heated discussion on the social networking platform.
According to a police official, Sadiq had created a Facebook profile with a fake name and had claimed in the post that he was a journalist with a local daily. “Following a complaint from the daily and revelation that there was nobody of that name employed with them, police probed and arrested this person,” the official said.
