Friends cast to reunite for two-hour special 12 years after show ended
The six lead actors will come together for a tribute to veteran sitcom director James Burrows, who has shot 1,000 episodes, of which 15 were for the popular American programme.
The cast of Friends is expected to reunite for a two-hour special show in honour of veteran sitcom director James Burrows next month. The highly anticipated reunion is part of NBC’s tribute to Burrow, who has directed 1,000 episodes over his career, of which 15 were for Friends.
The six lead actors, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow, will come together on February 21, The Guardian reported. Le Blanc was the first to mention the reunion on Twitter, and Kudrow and Cox quickly followed. Friends co-creator Martha Kauffman had earlier said the cast would never act together again. The show ended in 2004 after a hugely successful 10-year run.
Burrows has also directed other popular sitcoms including Will and Grace, Frasier, Mike and Molly and Cheers. Cast members from those shows are also expected to participate in the tribute programme.
