Indonesian police have identified four of the five militants killed in the attacks in Jakarta on Thursday, two of whom were convicted before, BBC reported. One of them, Afif Sunakim, was sentenced for sevens year for attending a militant camp. Earlier, local news channels in Indonesia reported on Friday that three men have been arrested for having links with the Islamic State following the series explosions and shootings that took place in the city the previous day. A spokesperson for the government Colonel Dwiyono said the three of them were arrested from their homes in Depok district, which lies on the outskirts of Jakarta.

Many details of the attack remain unclear, including the number and identities of those who died, though the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for it. According to AP, Jakarta police chief Major General Tito Karnavian said the attackers were part of a group led by Bahrum Naim, an Indonesian ISIL supporter who is now in Syria.

Officials said 20 people were injured and seven people, including five attackers, were killed in the serial explosions, however there have been conflicting reports on the exact numbers. The attackers opened fire near a Starbucks and the violence continued in the city centre, near the Sarinah shopping mall and the United Nations office.
