Narendra Modi has only Rs 4,700 cash in hand: PMO
However, the value of his movable and immovable assets rose from Rs 1.26 crore in August 2014 to Rs 1.41 crore in March 2015.
Narendra Modi clearly does not feel the need to carry any cash on him as the prime minister of the country. According to the latest details of his assets disclosed by the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday, Modi had only Rs 4,700 cash in hand at the end of the last financial year. That's less than an eighth of the Rs 38,700 he had in August 2014.
However, the total value of the prime minister's movable and immovable assets increased from Rs 1.26 crore to Rs 1.41 crore, as of March 31, 2015. This is primarily because his residential property in Gandhinagar appreciated by more than 25 times since he purchased it 13 years ago, PTI reported.
According to the disclosure, Modi also does not own any motor vehicles, has no loans under his name, has four gold rings weighing around 45 grams and still retains his bank accounts in Gujarat, but has none in Delhi. Modi’s immovable assets include the Gandhinagar property, while his movable assets consist of investments in L&T infra bonds, national savings certificates and life insurance policies amounting to Rs 41.15 lakh.
