BJP offered me Rs 1,200 crore to withdraw Patel quota stir: Hardik Patel

In a letter to his father, Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti convenor Hardik Patel has claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party offered him Rs 1,200 crore and a plum position in the national youth wing to stop his party's agitation demanding reservation for the Patel community under the other backward classes category. The letters were released to the media on Friday, reported IANS.
Hardik is lodged in Surat's Lajpore Jail under a sedition charge after the Patidar protests he was leading turned violent in many parts of the state. In the letter, Hardik wrote that two Gujarat government officials, including the IAS officer responsible for action against the PAAS protestors, have been visiting him in jail for the past three-four days, reported the Times of India. The 22-year-old also said he is confident that he will be released soon and continue the agitation.
