ISI asked me to visit Army headquarters in Pune, David Headley tells court
The Pakistani-American terror accused said Major Iqbal of Pakistan's intelligence agency wanted him to recruit someone who can share classified information from the Indian Army.
Pakistani-American terror accused David Headley on Saturday told a Mumbai court via video conferencing that Major Iqbal of Pakistan's Inter-Service Intelligence asked him to visit the Indian Army's Southern Command headquarters in Pune and recruit someone who can share classified information, reported PTI. He also said that during his trip to India in 2009, he took videos of Holi celebrations and Jewish payer centre Chabad House in Pushkar. He said that he went to Goa after Pushkar for two days.
The deposition pertained to emails exchanged between Headley and Sajid Mir of Lashkar-e-Taiba from July 2009 to September 2009. In the letters he inquired about one "old uncle and uncle", which he claims were references to Hafiz Saeed and Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi. India believes that former Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Saeed and top LeT leader Lakhvi orchestrated the Mumbai attacks. The terrorist-turned-approver on Friday told the court that Al Quaeda wanted to target the National Defence College in Delhi as it has many senior military officials, reported India Today.
