Indian boxer and Olympic bronze medalist Vijender Singh notched up his fourth successive knockout win in the professional boxing circuit, beating Hungary’s Alexander Horvath in under three rounds in Liverpool on Saturday. Singh had little trouble out-punching his opponent, who failed to get up after being thrown off balance by the 30-year-old Indian's body blows in the third round, reported PTI. Horvath, 20, said he had been drinking snake blood to prepare for the match, but the bizarre diet seemed to have done little to help counter Singh's blows.

After the win, Singh said, “It’s a good start to the year for me. I am happy to register another knockout win.” He added that he aimed to win the World Boxing Organisation Asia tournament to be held in India on June 11 this year. “I'm looking forward to registering two more knockout wins in April before I play in India,” he said. Singh, who took to the pro circuit only in October last year, has been on a roll ever since. The Asian Games gold medalist's next bout is scheduled for April 2. The opponent and the venue is yet to be decided.
