Comedian Tanmay Bhat’s video, in which he seemingly mocks veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, has not gone down well. While it has drawn criticism from celebrities and Twitterati, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena filed an FIR against the All India Bakchod member.

MNS Chitrapat Sena president Ameya Khopkar had earlier said he would file the FIR at Shivaji Park police station. A Mumbai Police spokesperson confirmed that the Special Branch was looking into the complaint. Khopkar had also demanded that the video the comedian uploaded on Facebook be taken down immediately, The New Indian Express reported. Bhatt shared the video titled “Sachin vs Lata Civil War” on May 26.

Mumbai Police have also officially asked internet service providers to block the video, News18 reported. Bhatt has also been criticised for the video by actors Anupam Kher, Celina Jaitley and Riteish Deshmukh, among others.
