Wimbledon: Indian challenge ends as Leander Paes and Martina Hingis are knocked out in mixed doubles

The Indian challenge at Wimbledon 2016 ended after defending champions Leander Paes and Martina Hingis were knocked out in the third round of the mixed doubles, going down 6-3, 3-6, 2-6 to the pair of Henri Kontinen and Heather Watson on Friday.
Earlier in the day, Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis were eliminated in the quarter finals of the women's doubles, losing 2-6 2-4 to Timea Babos and Yaroslava Shvedova.
Mirza had previously lost in the second round of the mixed doubles with her partner Ivan Dodig, while Rohan Bopanna and his partner Anastasia Rodionova had also been eliminated in the third round.
Both Paes and Bopanna had exited the men's doubles draw with their respective partners in the second and third rounds.
