The Nepal health ministry has sacked 35 doctors for using fake certificates for Intermediate examinations from Bihar to get jobs in various government hospitals in the country, reported the Hindustan Times. The decision was taken on the basis of a report submitted the the Central Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police.

According to the inquiry report submitted to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda, the erstwhile Bihar Intermediate Education Council did not have any records of 14 doctors, while the investigating agency found that 16 doctors had fudged the marks they had obtained. The board has since been merged with the Bihar School Examination Board.

The agency started probing certificates of 3,000 doctors after the Bihar toppers scam came to light in June. The board came under scrutiny when it was revealed that several toppers of the Class 12 exam did not know about their main subjects.
