Pakistan claims Indian shelling killed several passengers on a bus in PoK
Its military’s Inter Services Public Relations said on Twitter that Indian forces had resorted to ’unprovoked firing’ along the LoC.
Pakistan on Wednesday claimed that Indian troops targeted a passenger bus and claimed several civilian lives in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir’s Lawat area. There were conflicting reports on the toll. The Pakistani military’s Inter Services Public Relations portal on Twitter said four people had been killed in the shelling.
However, Superintendent of police in Neelum Valley told Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper that nine passengers were killed and 11 injured in the attack. In a statement, ISPR said that “Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling on Line of Control in Shahkot, Jura, Battal, Karela, Bagh, Bagsar, Hotspring sectors.”
In another incident, one person was killed and six others injured, allegedly in shelling started by Indian at Nakyal, in Pakistan’s Kotli district.
On Tuesday, three Indian soldiers were killed in Macchil along the LoC. The body of one soldier was found mutilated. The soldier was identified as Prabhu Singh, 25, from Rajasthan. Following this the Indian Army had said, “retribution will be heavy for this cowardly act,” and launched a massive operation along the LoC.
