Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday filed a complaint following a burglary at his official residence in New Delhi on November 29, ANI reported. An FIR has been registered under IPC Section 380/457 (burglary) at Tughlak Road police station.

Several valuable items, including a pair of copper Gandhi glasses gifted to Tharoor by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, were stolen, reported The Indian Express. According to the complaint, Modi gifted Tharoor the glasses for his participation in the Swachh Bharat movement. Tharoor lives in Lodhi Estate in the national Capital’s Lutyens’ Zone.

In his complaint, the Congress leader said the thieves climbed the wall of his residence, broke the front door and entered his personal office. An antique Nataraja idol, several valuable Ganesha and Hanuman idols, 32 GB pen drives and the copper Gandhi glasses were among the many things that were stolen, said the report.

ACP (Chanakyapuri sub-division) Alok Kumar told the English daily that a forensic team was called in to look for fingerprints and foot prints. A special team has been formed to investigate the robbery.
