Dawood Ibrahim’s health is fine, says aide Chhota Shakeel while dismissing media reports
Reports had said the underworld don, who is based in Karachi, had been admitted to a hospital and was in critical condition.
Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is fine, his longtime aide Chhota Shakeel said on Saturday, dismissing media reports that had claimed he was in critical condition. Some reports had said Ibrahim had suffered a heart attack, but Chhota Shakeel told The Times of India, “Listening to my voice, do you think any such thing has happened? These are all rumours.” He said, “Bhai is fit and fine.”
The 61-year-old fugitive was seen at former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad’s house on April 19, sources told Hindustan Times. There have been earlier reports that Ibrahim was in poor health and that he was suffering from gangrene and had had a stroke.
The gangster has been wanted by Indian security officials for his involvement in the 1993 Mumbai blasts that killed 257 people and injured 717. However, Pakistan has denied his presence in the country since the blasts.
