Jammu and Kashmir: Suspected militant arrested during ambush in Bandipora
The trap was laid by Special Operations Group and 13 Rashtriya Rifles personnel.

The Indian Army on Friday arrested a suspected militant in Sumbal region of Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district during an ambush, ANI reported. The militant was trapped by personnel belonging to the Special Operations Group of Sumbal and 13 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army.
Pistols and grenades were recovered from the militant, who was identified as Shabaz Mir.

In June, four suspected militants were killed when they had tried to carry out a suicide attack on Central Reserve Police Force camp at Sumbal. Weapons like four AK rifles and grenades were recovered from the encounter site. The attackers were also carrying petrol to set the 45th Battalion CRPF camp on fire.
The arrest comes a day after an Afghan national was apprehended from Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir for living there illegally, ANI reported. He was caught when he tried to cross over to Pakistan via the Line of Control.
Police sources said the Afghan national wanted to ex-filtrate to Pakistan via LoC. He is currently being questioned; more details awaited
