Virginia State University in Petersburg, United States, was on lockdown on Friday after a man was critically wounded in a shooting on campus, the second in just a week, The Washington Post reported. The lockdown was lifted around four hours after the shooting was reported.

The police found the man with gunshot wounds to the stomach behind a building on campus and took him to a hospital. The local police said the injuries were life-threatening.

No arrests have been made, and there is no word on the shooter yet.

“At this time, the police believe this is an isolated incident, and there is no further threat to the campus,” the police were quoted as saying.

This latest shooting follows an incident on October 14, when a man was shot at during the homecoming weekend in the university. He did not sustain life-threatening injuries. The campus was on lockdown for five hours. There is no word on that shooter yet.
