‘India is a country of Hindus but it also belongs to others’, Mohan Bhagwat tells college students
Everyone who lives in accordance with Indian culture is a Hindu, the RSS chief said in Indore.
India is a country of Hindus but it also belongs to others, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat told a gathering of college-going RSS volunteers in Indore on Saturday, PTI reported.
“The term Hindu,” DNA quoted Bhagwat as saying, “covers all those who are the sons of Bharat Mata, descendants of Indian ancestors and who live in accordance with the Indian culture.” He continued, “Whose country is Germany?...It is a country of Germans, Britain is a country of Britishers, America is a country of Americans, and in the same way Hindustan is a country of Hindus.”
The RSS leader also talked of the limits of the government in transforming the country. “The government can go only as far as the society goes.” Calling for societal transformation, he said: “When the society brings changes in itself, this change reflects in the government and the system.”
