Mizoram will set up district task forces to stop undocumented immigrants from Bangladesh: Report

The government of Mizoram has decided to set up district-level task forces to tackle the influx of undocumented immigrants along the border with Bangladesh, a senior home department official told PTI.
The task forces will be established in the districts of Lunglei and Lawngtlai in the south, and Mamit in the northwest.
The matter was discussed on Tuesday at a meeting of officials from the Home ministry, top police officers, and representatives of civil societies, Additional Secretary for Home Lalbiakzama said. The meeting was chaired by Home Secretary Lalrinliana Fanai.
Ministry of Home Affairs Joint Secretary Dilip Kumar had written to the state chief secretary to immediately deport undocumented immigrants.
