The Delhi Police on Wednesday suspended an assistant sub-inspector who was one of the nine men arrested by the National Investigation Agency on Monday in connection with a terror funding case, ANI reported. Meanwhile, a special court sent the nine accused to the NIA’s custody till November 21, The Indian Express reported.

On Monday, the NIA arrested Bhagwan Singh and eight others and seized demonetised currency notes worth Rs 36.3 crore from them. They were caught near Connaught Place in New Delhi while carrying 28 cartons of the scrapped notes in four luxury vehicles.

The NIA said the money was meant to fund militant activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh is the key accused and had a prominent role, an NIA officer told The Indian Express.
