Punjab: Three killed, several trapped as Ludhiana factory catches fire and collapses
A team of the National Disaster Response Force is on the spot for rescue efforts.

Three people were killed and over a dozen are likely trapped under debris after a plastic manufacturing factory caught fire and collapsed in Ludhiana on Monday, ANI reported.
A team of the National Disaster Response Force is on the spot for rescue efforts. The factory is located in an industrial area near Sufia Chowk.
The fire was reported at 8 am. Hours later, the building collapsed when firemen were trying to douse the flames. Some firemen are also believed to be trapped inside.
“We have managed to pull out one body,” Assistant Commissioner of Police Jitender Singh said. “The person remains unidentified.”
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said he was “shocked and saddened” by the incident, and had asked the Ludhiana district administration to “extend all help” to the National Disaster Response Force in rescue operations.
