Gurugram school murder: DNA report shows bus conductor was not involved, CBI tells district court
But the agency refused to give Ashok Kumar a clean chit as it is waiting for chemical reports and other inputs.
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday told the Gurugram District Court that it does not have any evidence against bus conductor Ashok Kumar (pictured above), who was arrested in the murder case of a Class 2 student of the Ryan International School, India Today reported. The agency said the DNA report confirmed that Kumar was not involved in the crime.
However, the CBI refused to give Kumar a clean chit as it is still waiting chemical reports and other inputs. “In case any evidence is found against Ashok Kumar during investigation, appropriate action will be taken by the CBI as per law,” it told the court.
The agency made a similar statement last Thursday during a hearing on Kumar’s bail plea. The bus conductor had filed a bail application after the CBI said a Class 11 student of the same school had confessed to carrying out the murder.
The Gurugram court has reserved its order on Kumar’s bail plea for 3 pm on Tuesday, ANI reported.
