Jammu and Kashmir: Lashkar-e-Taiba militant arrested in Kupwara, says Army
The Army said he had one AK-47 along and some ammunition.
The Army on Friday said that it had arrested a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant from a forest area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, PTI reported.
“A Pakistani LeT terrorist was apprehended in a joint operation by Army and the JKP [Jammu and Kashmir Police] in Magam forest today,” the Hindustan Times quoted an unidentified Army spokesperson as saying. An AK-47 along and some ammunition was recovered from the suspected militant.
Three Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces in the same area on November 21. Last week, the Army said that it has killed 190 militants in Jammu and Kashmir this year, 110 of whom were foreign nationals.
