Madhya Pradesh minister says it is mandatory for students in state to answer roll call with Jai Hind
School Education Minister Vijay Shah said an advisory will be issued to all private schools soon.
Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister Vijay Shah has made it mandatory for students to answer their roll call with “Jai Hind”, The Indian Express reported on Monday. He said a circular on the order will be issued on Monday in 1.22 lakh government schools.
Shah is believed to have said that an advisory will be issued to all private schools. He made the announcement while addressing National Cadet Corps from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in Bhopal on Sunday.
In September, Shah had passed a similar order on having students in all private schools in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district answer their roll call with “Jai Hind” instead of “yes, sir/ma’am” from October 1. “We hope they will adhere to it since it relates to patriotism,” the minister had said.
Shah had said he would seek Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s permission to have the “Jai Hind” roll call rule implemented in the whole of Madhya Pradesh if the “experiment was successful”.
