Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Hyderabad Metro Rail on Tuesday and took an inaugural ride in the train with Telanagana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Commercial operations will begin from Wednesday.

The 30 km-long first phase of the metro rail project runs between Miyapur and Nagole and has 24 stations. Modi inaugurated the Hyderabad metro at the Miyapur station.

Modi also launched a new app, “TSaavari”, which will provide information on all modes of transport available for a journey in Hyderabad, The Hindu reported.

The prime minister is in Hyderabad to address the inaugural session of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit along with Ivanka Trump, the daughter and adviser of United States President Donald Trump.

The metro fare has been fixed between Rs 10 and Rs 60, and the trains will initially have three coaches. They will run from 6 am to 10 pm, and the timings could be changed depending on traffic and demand.
