The police announced that they had arrested one militant and identified the others involved.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said that they had arrested a militant named Muzammil in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Territorial Army jawan Irfan Ahmad Dar. Ahmad Dar’s bullet-riddled body was found in the Wothmula Nad area of Keegam village in Shopian district on November 25.
Three others, including top Hizbul Mujahideen commander Saddam Padder, were behind Dar’s murder, the police said. Padder was with the Lashkar-e-Taiba before joining the Hizbul Mujahideen in 2015.

Muzammil took Dar to Wothmula, where the other militants, including Padder, were waiting. They came out of a nearby orchard and shot him dead.
