Delhi: Five arrested for allegedly murdering family and their security guard in Mansarovar Park
Those arrested include the son and son-in-law of the security guard, who was allegedly the mastermind of the plan.
Five people were arrested for allegedly being involved in the murder of four women of a family and their security guard in the Mansarovar Park locality of East Delhi in October, the police said on Wednesday. Those arrested include the son and son-in-law of the security guard.
Two others are believed to be part of the crime, but have not been arrested yet, PTI reported. The security guard was allegedly the mastermind of the plan, but after the crime, the others in the plan killed him as they feared he might spill the beans during questioning, officers said.
The police believe that the murders were carried out with an intention to rob the family. They allegedly stole jewellery worth Rs 30 lakh to Rs 40 lakh and cash worth Rs 14 lakh.
The guard’s son-in-law confessed to the crime during interrogation, after which the others were caught.
The women – an 82-year-old and her three daughters – and their security guard were found dead with stab wounds at their house on October 7. The police had then said they had not found any signs of forced entry, leading them to believe that the murderer was known to them.
