Jammu and Kashmir: Pakistan allegedly violates ceasefire in Nowshera district
The Pakistani troops resorted to mortar shelling and small arms fire, reports said.

The Indian Army on Wednesday said Pakistan violated the ceasefire in Nowshera’s Baba Khori area in Jammu and Kashmir, ANI reported. Pakistani troops resorted to mortar shelling and small arms fire on the Indian posts.
Indian troops were retaliating appropriately, , The Indian Express reported. The firing from Pakistan’s side began at 8.55 am and continued till 9.10 am.

Meanwhile, the security forces have found arms and ammunition from a militant hideout in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shargari forests, ANI reported. The operation was carried out by 60 Rashtriya Rifles Army and a police party in Chassana village in Reasi district.

The alleged ceasefire violation comes a day after Indian Army reportedly confirmed that soldiers had crossed the Line of Control in Poonch on Monday evening and killed four Pakistani soldiers.
On December 24, the Pakistani forces had resorted to heavy firing from across the border along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, the Indian Army had said.
