Former RAW chief Rajinder Khanna appointed Deputy National Security Adviser
The post was vacant since Arvind Gupta retired in August after serving three years.
The government on Tuesday appointed former Research and Analysis Wing chief Rajinder Khanna the Deputy National Security Adviser.
The post was vacant since Arvind Gupta retired in August after serving three years.
Khanna was the secretary of the RAW, India’s foreign intelligence agency, from December 2014 to January 2017.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved his appointment, PTI reported. Khanna is currently an officer on special duty (neighbourhood studies) in the National Security Council Secretariat.
Khanna will be deputy to Ajit Doval, the National Security Adviser.
