BSF jawan killed in alleged ceasefire violation by Pakistan: Reports
Pakistani rangers targeted Indian positions with unprovoked mortar shelling and firing in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajpura area.
A head constable of the Border Security Force was killed purportedly during a ceasefire violation committed by Pakistan along the International Border on Wednesday, PTI reported. Pakistani rangers targeted Indian positions with unprovoked mortar shelling and firing in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajpura area, officials said.
The BSF constable was identified as RP Hazra, who turned 51 on Wednesday. He was severely wounded after Pakistani forces allegedly “sniped” from across the border at about 4 pm, officials said. He succumbed to his injuries at a nearby medical centre.
The BSF has started firing in retaliation, a senior officer was quoted as saying.
