An Indian man allegedly working as a spy for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence , or ISI, was arrested in Amritsar on Thursday, the Punjab Police said, according to PTI.

The State Special Operations Cell and Military Intelligence arrested Ravi Kumar from the Chatiwind police station area in Amritsar and found photographs of vital installations, handmade maps of restricted areas, photocopies of training manuals of the Army and information regarding Army attack formations in his possession, the news agency said, citing a statement from the Punjab Police.

The police said Kumar was recruited by an official of the Inter-Services Intelligence through Facebook seven months ago. Kumar is believed to have given the agency information about Army units, new bunkers on the Indian side of the border, photographs of Army vehicles, and training.

Kumar’s handlers reportedly briefed him about his tasks in Dubai in February. Ever since, he is said to have been communicating regularly with Pakistani intelligence officers online and on mobile phones. The investigation found that all payments to him were routed through Dubai.

“It has also come to light that Pakistan-based agencies operate a large number of fake Facebook accounts in the name of young girls and actively try to befriend unemployed young people and retired/serving officials in the armed forces and subsequently try to allure (sic) them into espionage activities,” the police said on Thursday.
