The police in Muzaffarnagar arrested a doctor on Saturday after a 13-year-old girl alleged that he had confined her in his clinic for three days and raped her, PTI reported. The police have sealed the doctor’s clinic and seized “objectionable material”, Circle Officer SKS Pertap said.

According to the girl’s father, she had gone to the clinic to get some medicines when the doctor confined her, gave her sedatives and raped her. The father claimed he had been searching for her with other villagers after she went missing.

The girl escaped from the clinic after three days and reported the crime to her father on Saturday, the police said.

Officers have sent the girl for a medical examination. An investigation is under way.
