Singer MS Rajeswari dies in Chennai at 87
She was best known for lending her voice to child artists.
Tamil playback singer MS Rajeswari died of old age-related ailments in Chennai on Wednesday. She was 87, The NewsMinute reported.
Rajeswari was best known for lending her voice to child artists. Among her popular songs are “Sundalikum Sundalikum Thirumanamam” in Kaidhi Kanaiyiram, “Chittu Kuruvi Chittu Kuruvi Sedhi Theriyuma” in Town Bus and “Ammavum Neeye Appavum Neeye” from actor Kamal Haasan’s debut movie Kalathur Kannama.
She had recorded more than 500 songs in her career, including tracks in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Her body will be kept for public viewing in Chennai’s Chrompet locality before her funeral on Thursday at 4.40 pm.
