Delhi Metro parking to become costlier from May 1
The metro authority said it was necessary to raise the charges in proportion to the fees that civic bodies levied for the parking lots.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Wednesday revised its parking charges. The new rates will be effective from May 1.
It said it was necessary to raise the fares in proportion to the “charges being levied by civic agencies for their parking lots”. “It is therefore necessary to rationalise the metro parking charges in view of higher charges by the civic agencies.”
The fares have increased by around 50% across various slabs. Here are the revised rates:
The move comes after the Delhi metro increased the fares of its rides in October. The decision led to a drop in the number of commuters using the metro.
