Jammu and Kashmir: Donkey gets admit card to write SSB exam, government blames error on technology
Education Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said he does not think this will ‘dent the image’ of the Services Selection Board.
The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday played down reports that the Services Selection Board had issued a hall ticket to a donkey for the recruitment examination of naib tehsildars, PTI reported.
The card was issued under the name “Kachur Khar” or brown donkey for the examination scheduled on Sunday. It also had a photograph of a donkey.
“I don’t think it is going to dent the image of the Services Selection Board,” Education Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said on Saturday. “It is a technology-driven era and the cards are computer generated.” The board deleted the card from its system soon after it went viral.
However, users on social media trolled the department for its mistake, especially because the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations in Jammu and Kashmir had issued an admit card to a cow in 2015.
One user wrote on Facebook that such a mistake should not have occurred again. “This application form could have been deleted or cancelled easily by SSB officials from the system because the issue was already highlighted in 2015,” the user wrote.
