Shiv Sena MP demands President’s Rule in Jammu and Kashmir after Shopian school bus attack
Arvind Sawant said law and order in the state had deteriorated.
Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant on Wednesday demanded that President’s rule be imposed in Jammu and Kashmir after a school bus was attacked in Shopian district, PTI reported. Sawant said the law and order situation had deteriorated in the state and President’s Rule will help restore it.
The Bharatiya Janata Party, which is Shiv Sena’s ally in Maharashtra, is a partner in the Peoples Democratic Party-led government in Jammu and Kashmir.
“There is no law and order left in Jammu and Kashmir,” the Lok Sabha MP from Mumbai (South) said, according to PTI. “If stones can be pelted on students, who is safe there? The government there has miserably failed on all fronts, including law and order.”
Two students suffered injuries on Wednesday when a group of people attacked a school bus that was carrying more than 35 students.
