Actor Emma Watson tweets in support of Kathua case lawyer Deepika Singh Rajawat
Her tweet took social media by surprise, with some thanking the UN Women goodwill ambassador and others asking her to ‘check her facts’.
Deepika Singh Rajawat, the advocate representing the family of the child who was allegedly raped and then murdered in Kathua, has recently received both support and criticism on social media. Actor and United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson on Friday also propped up Rajawat and shared an article on the lawyer with a photo that had gone viral.
Several of the actor’s followers thanked her for her support while a few others were surprised that the Kathua case had even caught the attention of the international star.
However, some Twitter users said that the tweet about Rajawat would “hurt” Watson’s “image and respect” and asked her to check her facts.
