Two more suspected militants were killed on Monday in a gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district on the 10th day of a search operation, Doordarshan reported. Heavy firing is under way.

Security forces had launched the operation in the Panar forest area on June 9. Two militants and a soldier were killed in a gunfight on Thursday.

The operation was launched after the suspected militants attacked an Army patrol party, defence spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia had told Greater Kashmir earlier.

Six soldiers, including an officer, have been injured so far in the operation, an official told GNS news agency.

At least 15 militants were believed to be hiding in the forest area.
